Stake publishes a dedicated Nigerian Naira flow for local-currency deposits. The current information names bank transfer, OPay and Skrill, but your account’s cashier is the final source for availability, limits and fees.
Deposit steps
- Sign in to Stake and open Wallet.
- Select Deposit, then choose local currency and NGN.
- Review the methods currently displayed.
- Select a method and enter an amount within its minimum and maximum.
- Complete the payment on the provider page.
- Keep the transaction reference until the Stake balance updates.
Stake says account verification includes ID plus email and phone confirmation for the published NGN flow. If the account shows a different requirement, follow the current prompt before sending money.
Minimum, maximum and processing time
The official NGN information states a minimum of ₦1,000 or ₦2,000, depending on the payment method, and a maximum deposit of ₦7,000,000. It describes an average processing time under three minutes.
These are published reference values. Stake’s terms make clear that method availability, minimums, maximums and service fees can change and are shown in the wallet. Do not split or repeat a transaction merely to bypass a limit.
If a deposit is pending or fails
Check the payment provider status and the Stake transaction history. A completed bank or wallet debit does not always mean the Stake balance has been credited. Keep the amount, time and reference before contacting support.
Stake’s NGN information says funds from a failed deposit are returned, but the timing can depend on the provider. Avoid sending the same payment again until the first transaction has a final status.
Before a later withdrawal
Use a method that belongs to you and keep access to it. Stake normally requires a withdrawal to use a method previously used for deposit and can request identity checks. Read the withdrawal details before funding the account if cashing out through a particular method matters to you.
Compare the methods shown in the cashier
The method name alone is not enough to choose an option. Compare the minimum, maximum, provider fee, receiving details and status message shown for the same transaction. Bank transfer, OPay and Skrill can have different instructions even when they appear under the same NGN wallet.
| Check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Account holder | A third-party payment method can trigger ownership checks |
| Amount and currency | Confirms the provider request matches the NGN cashier instruction |
| Fee | Separates Stake charges from a bank or wallet provider charge |
| Reference | Gives support enough information to trace a pending payment |
| Final status | Prevents an accidental duplicate deposit while the first is processing |
If any value changes after the provider page opens, stop and return to the cashier instead of guessing which amount is correct.
